Rafeeqi Research Endowment in Earthquake Engineering
Earthquake engineering has overlapping links with many disciplines and fields of knowledge. Civil and building engineering, environmental, petroleum and urban engineering, architecture, urban & regional planning are some mentions in this regard. The Rafeeqi Endowment is instituted to foster research in core as well as applied disciplines. The management of the endowment is entrusted to a committee headed by Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture with Chairperson of Civil Engineering, Earthquake Engineering and Architecture and Planning as its members.
The Rafeeqi Endowment welcomes research proposals from young engineers and allied professionals who wish to conduct structured research in the broad realm of earthquake engineering. A short introduction, identification of research questions, outline of methodology, expected outcomes and justification / relevance to the field of earthquake engineering must be provided. The applicants are also encouraged to provide basic cost overlays. The total length of description should not be exceed 1000 words. The committee shall review the proposals and make selections subject to merit and availability of funds. Decision of convener of the committee shall be final and binding on all concerned.
